St. John Berchmans Catholic School

Catholic Arts and Academic Competition

The competition incorporates the following four pillars.
C.A.A.C. teaches students to proclaim the Catholic faith, to demonstrate Catholic attitudes and principles, to gain knowledge of Roman Catholic Church teachings and to make Christian choices.
C.A.A.C. is designed for students to become engaged in exploring social justice issues, delve into biblical and religious studies, research faith-based literature and discover their God-given talents.
C.A.A.C. supports and celebrates student academic achievement through various assessment and performance-based categories.
C.A.A.C. encourages students to honor God as they express their uniqueness as Catholic students, enhance
social and personal skills, and foster community among Catholic schools.
There are four parts to the competition.
Cheerleading, STREAM challenge, Catholic Creative Arts, and Sing at the Cross.
The STREAM Challenge, which takes place on February 2nd, is designed to provide students the opportunity to continue their personal faith journey within the study and integration of Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Art and Mathematics. The categories in this contest incorporate challenges that tap into students’ imagination and creativity while practicing 21st Century Skills. Through continual reading and understanding of Catholic and Biblical texts, students are able to grow their relationship with God and his Church as they prepare themselves with the knowledge necessary to meet performance assessment requirements.
65 SJB Knights from grade 1st-8th will be competing in this challenge. The categories our students will compete in are Bible Storytelling, Catholic Heroes, Know my Faith, Witness to the Word, Music Memory, Spelling, Math, and Innovate, Create, and Discover (ICD).
Let's all prayer for the success of students.
